The Victorian College of the Artsについて
ヴィクトリア･カレッジ･オブ･アーツ（VCA）の起源は1867年のビクトリア州国立美術館芸術学校創立時に遡ります。今日、VCAはオーストラリアのビジュアル･パフォーミングアーツの名門大学として、美術、ダンス、演劇、映画とテレビ、音楽そして劇場制作分野の学士課程、大学院課程、博士課程およびショートコースを開講していますが、実際、VCAへの出願者の上位わずか5%がVCAの入学を許可されています。
同校はメルボルン市の芸術区域の中心に位置し、在校生のパフォーミング･センター、アート･ギャラリー、ラジオ･テレビ局へのアクセスも簡単です。教員スタッフは全て、国内および海外の著名な芸術家、教育者、芸術界の先駆者から採用しています。さらに同校は、国際的評価において最高の大学として選ばれたメルボルン大学の付属芸術大学です。本校の美術学部の校舎は、設備の充実したスタジオコンプレックスになっており、絵画、描画、彫刻、陶芸、プリント地創作、写真の6部門の学科に分かれています。この一ヶ所からビクトリア州の芸術の重要なイベントの開催地に簡単にアクセスできる便利なロケーションです。
この学部の課程はスタジオ制作を中心とした内容となっています。選び抜かれた各学生は在学期間中、個々のスタジオを与えられ、そこで作品制作に打ち込みます。

Biennalesのオーストラリア代表の出展者として選出されました。また、オーストラリアのプロ･トップ･アーティストの一員として大いに活躍しています。

Mission
The mission of
the VCA is to provide excellent education training and practice for emerging
artists and practitioners and to support, enhance and challenge the arts
professions. The Victorian College of the Arts combines all the arts disciplines
within one institution and is dedicated to education and training of artists for
the highest level of professional activity. The College is a creative mosaic of
professional artists teaching aspiring artists. All are committed to excellence
and to innovation in an interdisciplinary international and multicultural
environment. Staff are selected for their own national and international
artistic achievements. Importantly, they are also committed and experienced
teachers.
